David Wanamaker, 7th generation Philadelphian, is recognized as a visionary designer of Hospitality and Gaming resort architecture. He helped create a proprietary casino gaming slot and pit layout software that is still a foundation of the company he heads today.
David received his Bachelor of Architecture Degree from Temple University before continuing his Graduate studies in Architecture and Urban Design at the prestigious University of Pennsylvania. His initial work involved different capacities during the very beginning of legalized gaming in Atlantic City. These included Resorts International, Bally’s and Casears. For five years, David worked for legendary casino visionary Steve Wynn, helping to develop Golden Nugget Atlantic City and Las Vegas and later the Mirage Hotel.
Wanamaker relocated to Los Angeles to lead the design team for Yates- Silverman, at the time, the largest gaming resort interior design firm in the world. While at Yates, he created the Excalibur Hotel for MGM and helped develop projects such as Trump Taj Mahal, Trump Tower, Stardust and many numerous other Hospitality resorts. Later, David was retained by Dougall Design to develop the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace.
In 1991, David opened his own practice with four partners. Well over two decades later, Madison Design Group, Inc continues to service and focus specifically within the Gaming and Hospitality industry.
